SO, ARE YOU STILL SURE THIS IS WHERE GOD WANTS YOU?

Yes, I am still often asked this question.  And after two months in Zambia, I can honestly say that I am more convinced, convicted, confident, and sure then I ever have been. I know that can be hard to understand or believe.  One gentleman I talked to about it commented that at least one thing I was, was decisive and that is a lot better than indecisive.  That decisiveness I believe comes from God.  You know when you know.  How do you know?  I don’t know, I just know you do!  With the many experiences, answers to prayer, relationships developed, work accomplished this past summer alone…how could I not see the hand of God?  I clearly see how He has called us, equipped us, trained us, and worked in us for how many years of our lives.  The last line of our wedding vows said, “and to join with you so that together we may serve God and others as long as we both shall live.”  I guess I didn’t think too much of it at the time.  Never in our dreams did Kelly or I think that missions (especially in Africa!) was where God would call us.  But He already knew!  The joys, the pain, the trials, the life we have lived have brought us to this place.  We aren’t perfect, never claimed to be.  We’ve both walked with God, but also far from Him too.  Praise God and His sovereignty for the work of redemption He is accomplishing despite our “failures”.  But they aren’t failures to God-they are stepping stones to where He has called us.

Thanks to each one who prayed with us and for our June Missions trip to Zambia. Despite the long flights and airport hassles, airline food, etc, it was very rewarding to see where Brian and Kelly Jo and Family will be living and working and also to work alongside Brian on his house as well as working on the Bible college buildings. Worshipping with the nationals and seeing their excitement of having the mission teams with them made us feel a part of them. It was comforting to see how Brian was accepted and we are confident his family will be also.Though tears come often as we think of the distant separation from our children and grandchildren, we know the obedience to God’s call is always rewarding. (Thanks kids for making mom and dad proud of you.)

Please continue to pray for each of us.

PRAYER & PRAISE

PRAISE: 

·         We are at 92.5% of our monthly support!  YEAH!!!  Continue to pray for the last 8%!

·         The safe and miraculous arrival of Henry!!

·         A relatively smooth adjustment back into life with daddy around-now for a smooth adjustment with Henry

PRAYER REQUESTS: 

·         For a team of 4-6 guys to go back with Brian in September to finish working on the roof and the inside of the house

·         Container: Yes, we are as tired of praying for this container as you are!!  Please keep persevering in prayer with us over this!  We were told this week it was at the border.  We need to have it confirmed at the school before we can set a return date for Brian and a possible team. 

·         We are hoping to leave for Zambia as a family in late October.  Pray that we will be at full support and have our outgoing costs at that time.  Pray for all the logistical details that need to go into that move.

·         FOR OUR HOME IN KANDIYOHI TO SELL!!

·         Kelly Jo and kids as they gear up for another year of school
